THE INTERNET'S MOST GLAMOROUS NIGHT OF THE YEAR

News image

After winning two Webbys this year it was only fair that Magnitude celebrated in style by attending the 12th Annual Webby Award Ceremony - the internet's most glamorous... ab fab...sweetie darling night of the year!

The glittering ceremony which took place at New York's Cipriani Wall St. was attended by some of the world's most powerful online organisations including Yahoo, YouTube and Facebook.

Renowned for limiting winners to only a five word acceptance speech our very own sweetie-darling Jude Lynskey got a great reception at the ceremony with her five words, 'Long reign the bloody internet'.

Other winners at the Webbys included musician Will.i.am from The Black Eyed Peas whose internet videos for US presidential hopeful Barack Obama gained him the Artist of the Year award.

Talking Heads singer-songwriter David Byrne was also honoured for a Lifetime Achievement in technology in the arts and the internet.

Jude, our Senior Account Manager said, It has been a huge honour to be recognised amongst the digital industry's elite and further proof that you need look no further for quality design and development than the UK (and Yorkshire!)

We are delighted to announce that Magnitude has won in the 'Best Restaurant' website and the 'People's Voice' categories at this year's international Webby Awards.

Magnitude's work on both wagamama's main website and meandmybod has been officially hailed by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences as the best in the world.

With a record number of entries at this year's awards, Magnitude's fellow nominees included the likes of Apple, the BBC and MTV along with some of the biggest global brands and creative agencies.

Magnitude's big boss Tony Humphreys said, "Our work with Wagamama has focussed on developing industry-leading interactivity and to be recognised by the Webbys is a remarkable achievement. We now have the difficult task of deciding how many of the team go over to New York to pick up the awards - I've never known everyone be so keen to bring me cups of tea!"

...Did I mention how wonderful you are Tony and that you are without doubt the best boss I have ever worked for?

Aardman Animator (David to you and me) joins Magnitude

News image

After much deliberation (well, a 15 minute discussion) Magnitude decided to appoint David Burley as the new Flash Animator at Magnitude. Having previously worked at the world famous Aardman Studios, David is an experienced and accomplished animator who promises to bring a new, finely-drawn edge to Magnitude's ever-increasing team.

David commented: "I'm thrilled to have become a part of the friendly team at Magnitude and hope I can continue to produce work on a par with their very high standards." However, his disturbing love of all things cheesy and a propensity to use big words like propensity has meant even stronger and bigger words have already had to be had. And why does that penguin always give him evils from across the room?
