MAGNITUDE CELEBRATE WEBBY DOUBLE WHAMMY!

News image

We are delighted to announce that Magnitude has won in the 'Best Restaurant' website and the 'People's Voice' categories at this year's international Webby Awards.

Magnitude's work on both wagamama's main website and meandmybod has been officially hailed by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences as the best in the world.

With a record number of entries at this year's awards, Magnitude's fellow nominees included the likes of Apple, the BBC and MTV along with some of the biggest global brands and creative agencies.

Magnitude's big boss Tony Humphreys said, "Our work with Wagamama has focussed on developing industry-leading interactivity and to be recognised by the Webbys is a remarkable achievement. We now have the difficult task of deciding how many of the team go over to New York to pick up the awards - I've never known everyone be so keen to bring me cups of tea!"

...Did I mention how wonderful you are Tony and that you are without doubt the best boss I have ever worked for?

Seven are given a Magnitude makeover

Magnitude have done it again! Yet another account win and this time for northern based architects, Seven Architecture. The architect firm have previously worked on national projects including college campuses, city centre developments and the renovation of various listed buildings.

Seven Architecture’s director, Simon Parker said, “Seven is a new architecture practice, focused on adding value to our client’s business through good, considered design and a professional service. We enjoy working with like-minded creative professionals and we were delighted to find a team as well regarded as Magnitude just down the road in Harrogate. We see our website as critical in communicating our abilities and culture to potential clients and staff and Magnitude have really worked hard to understand us and help deliver this message.”

Magnitude will be redesigning Seven Architecture’s entire website with the hope of moving the company and website forward to the next level. Work on the new website has already started and is due to be completed by the summer.

Aardman Animator (David to you and me) joins Magnitude

News image

After much deliberation (well, a 15 minute discussion) Magnitude decided to appoint David Burley as the new Flash Animator at Magnitude. Having previously worked at the world famous Aardman Studios, David is an experienced and accomplished animator who promises to bring a new, finely-drawn edge to Magnitude's ever-increasing team.

David commented: "I'm thrilled to have become a part of the friendly team at Magnitude and hope I can continue to produce work on a par with their very high standards." However, his disturbing love of all things cheesy and a propensity to use big words like propensity has meant even stronger and bigger words have already had to be had. And why does that penguin always give him evils from across the room?

If music be the food of love, strip off.

When wagamama asked Magnitude to come up with another take on the Valentines concept, we rose to the challenge, quite literally. Bored of all the schmaltz that usually surrounds the most commercial of holidays, Magnitude decided to add a bit of "ooo -err" - so those of us still searching for "the one" could send naughty messages to the office paper boy or Deidre in accounts (Tony, we know it was you!) Please send all sexual discrimination lawsuits which have resulted from this campaign to: Magnitude, 79 Station Parade, Harrogate, HG1 1ST and see Magnitude creates controversial viral flash website game for wagamama to see what we did!

Cuppa, anyone?

News image

It's long been known that the team at Magnitude is partial to a cup of tea. But the more of us there are, the less prepared we all are to put the kettle on. What was once a 5 minute job now takes 15! However, having won the Ahmad Tea account we think we may be drinking a lot more very soon. Having been given the task of recreating and rebranding the UK and international sites, we would like to raise our china cups, our little pinkies firmly pointing upwards, to toast our new client and more fun design work for all of us here!
