I am also impressed with the improvements and hope that this is how microsoft are moving forward. I am still a huge fan of firefox and although having downloaded chrome - I just love firefox for its plugins. But I think your PC should be able to cope with the rendering! The fastest way is to render to your local machine and then save to an external harddrive to save space. I would recommend switching to a Mac if you are getting into video editing. The best software is undoubtably Apple Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects. Not too sure on the PCs. All the best.
