Magnitude receive two nominations at this year’s Webby Awards
Magnitude have been acknowledged as one of the best web design innovators in the world after receiving two nominations at the 2008 Webby Awards and even more impressively are the only agency in the North of England to be shortlisted for an award.
This year’s awards received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries and Magnitude’s fellow nominees include Apple, the BBC, MTV and a host of the biggest global brands and creative agencies.
Magnitude are up for two awards for their work with Wagamama and Me and My Bod- the ‘Best Restaurant’ website and the People’s Choice category which both have McDonalds, The Earl of Sandwich and YoRoto as contending nominees. The winner of the People’s Voice Award goes to the nominee with the highest number of votes. Readers can vote for Magnitude online at http://pv.webbyawards.com
The Webby Awards are the leading awards honouring excellence on the internet and have been hailed the ‘Online Oscars’ by Time Magazine. This year’s judging panel consists of members of The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences which includes David Bowie, Jamie Oliver, Matt Groening and internet co-inventor Vinton Cerf!
Magnitude’s MD Tony Humphreys commented: “These awards are the biggest in the business. To be nominated is a terrific achievement for the team and a huge accolade in itself.

Voting for the People’s Voice category closes on 1st May so everyone needs to get voting for Magnitude now! Winners for all categories will be announced on 6th May.

Congratulations on your win guys, fantastic work. However I should point out that Magnitude weren’t the only British agency outside London to be shortlisted, as your article states. Hyperlaunch, who I think are based in Bristol, won the Best Celebrity/Fan Website award for the Annie Lennox official website.
